Sometimes people see “Audacity Guru” and they think I have a lot of chutzpah to claim that I’m an expert. But that’s not the point. I don’t care much about being a supposed Audacity expert. The word “guru” is defined as closer to “leader” than “expert” in English (although I really like the translation “one who dispels darkness”). And that’s what I hope to make YOU: someone who is confident enough in their knowledge of Audacity, and expertise in using it, that you can lead others who would like to follow on your path; to light their way; to dispel a little more darkness in the world. – Stuart Gauffi
Audacity and Me
Since its initial release, I’ve used Audacity to create audio for projects small and large, for clients ranging from instructional videos to radio commercials to materials for the US Air Force and The White House, to dozens of audiobooks.
Over that time, I’ve used most of the popular audio editing tools and Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) that have come along (and in some cases, gone away). And I continue to use Audacity. That’s because…
